ATV North Beaches Tour
The ATV beach tours are one of the most fun things to do in Playa Potrero. We offer both the north beach tour and the south beach tour. For the north beach tour, we start at Playa Potrero and move north up the coast. We will stop at 5 different beaches and you will have the chance to go on a short hike to a small secluded beach if you choose.
As we move up the coast, you will experience a unique phenomenon. Beach to beach, the scenery changes significantly. You will see both brown sand beaches and white sand beaches, all within miles of each other. You will also see exotic jungle fauna, beautiful mangroves and if you’re lucky, a few howler monkeys. You’ll probably hear them before you see them, but our experienced guides will help you find them in the trees!
We will meet at 9:00am at our Playa Potrero office. We will head north up the coast where we will make our first stop at Playa Penca, a beautiful white sand beach that has the perfect skim boarding break. Continuing up the coast, we will visit Playa Prieta which must be accessed by a steep dirt road. It is a brown sand beach with some nice shaded areas in the green season. We will continue on to Sugar Beach, a truly spectacular beach with fine, white sand. Grab a drink at the Sugar Beach Hotel if you would like!
Our last stop will be either Playa Danta or Dantita, depending on your preference. Both are equally as beautiful and quite similar. They are accessed from the same point but Playa Dantita requires a short hike, while Playa Danta does not. After enjoying some time at the beach, we will head back to the starting point. You will enjoy some beautiful coastal views and the natural beauty of Costa Rica. The ATV beach tour is a fantastic way to see the area!
